Real Reports: Behind the Scenes at Relief for Hurricane Katrina
Welcome to an eyewitness, politically charged, on the ground truth-telling from New Orleans, southern Louisiana, and Mississippi in the aftermath of Class 4 Hurricane Katrina. Why were tens of thousands of mostly black and brown people left to languish in an abandoned city and now stuck in massive, armed encampments separated from family and loved ones?
Beginning September 10th, I will be working for community-based relief efforts in the affected areas. I will also be reporting for several independent news sources which I will mention and link to from the blog. This is provocative news with NO SPIN, NO CHOICE PHOTO-OPS, and straight from the people who have been affected.
I'll try to report daily with news and updates. Please write in and I'll answer your questions as best I can.
Peace,
Naomi Archer

naomi: thank you for providing a second opinion on all of that 'relief' they are getting in the small towns....do you think the situation would be best served by generating a thousand phone calls to the LA gov's office? or should we get in our trucks and get over there to move products from the warehouse to churches or schools or whatever they have available to use as distribution stations? or what?
